Eveanna Manley herself hat sich die Ehre gegeben und unserem Autor und Manley-Freund Felix Klostermann höchstpersönlich den neuen MicPre / Channelstrip “Core” auf der Musikmesse Frankfurt 2014 vorgestellt.
Im Prinzip handelt es sich bei dem Gerät um eine günstige Variante der mächtigen Voxbox, wobei trotz des deutlich kleineren Preises der gleiche Class-A Preamp Verwendung findet. Es handelt sich also um einen Röhrenvorverstärker mit “ordentlich Eisen im Signalweg”, sprich auch hier wurden die Manley Iron Eingangsübertrager verbaut.
Darüber hinaus verfügt der 2 HE Kanalzug über einen Solidstate ELOP Compressor, einen 3-Band EQ und einen FET Limiter. Weiterhin wurde die Bedienbarkeit so einfach wie möglich gehalten, womit Core nicht nur für Engineers geeignet ist, sondern auch für Musiker, die sich selbst hochwertig aufnehmen wollen. Die Preamp Sektion bietet bis zu 60 dB Gain, einen Line-In, einen Direct-IN, sowie natürlich auch eine Phantomspannungsversorgung, ein 20dB Pad und Phaseswitch.
